CALL FOR ART | WOMEN DO IT! | Phase 3 is in progress!

Women Do It!

Traveling Postcard Exhibition

Women Do It!” is hosted by the WCA International Caucus and  was inspired by the work of the United Nations’ HeForShe campaign, its Beijing+20 program and in their efforts toward advancing women’s rights and gender equality in society, economics and politics. The International Caucus invites people of all genders and ages to create postcards of women and girls they admire. The works in this exhibition answer these questions:

What are noteworthy achievements by women? What impacts have women had on the economy, human rights, education, environment, world health, religion, politics and peace? Who are our women and girl heroes in our family and in our community? Which women do you admire in leadership, public service, sports and in the arts?

To date, over 350 postcards have been amassed and exhibited in venues across the country.  Add your cards to our collection which will be exhibited at the Target Gallery in Alexandria., VA during the February WCA Conference. From there, the cards will travel to the Florissant Valley Community College Gallery in St. Louis, MO in time for Women's History Month in March. The final destination is at Arc Gallery in San Francisco, CA during the month of May.

To submit your postcard, go to http://wcainternationalcaucus.weebly.com/women-do-it-postcard-exhibition-2014-and-beyond.html.

The deadline for submission is January 4, 2016.
