CHAPTER DEVELOPMENT FUND

Description

The Chapter Development Fund is intended to provide an incentive for chapter development. It is separate from the Chapter Matching Fund and the WCA Travel Scholarship. Chapters must make formal applications for the funds and payments are made upon completion of the project and the filing of a report. Projects must be in keeping with the Mission of WCA. Funds may not be used to benefit individual members but must serve the chapter as a whole. This funding will be reviewed by the National WCA Board on a yearly basis and the amounts adjusted or suspended depending on the fiscal health of WCA.

Funds may be used towards these projects and by discretion of the President:

• Workshops that teach new technology for members
• Professional development workshops for members
• Membership recruitment and marketing tools and materials
• Offset chapter exhibition expenses
• Collaborative projects with other women’s or activist organizations

Amount is $150 per chapter for projects occurring July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

CHAPTER MATCHING FUND

Description

The WCA Chapter Matching Fund is intended to provide an incentive for chapter collaborations. Two or more chapters that work together on an exhibition or conference may each apply for matching funds. It is separate from the WCA Chapter Development Fund and the WCA Travel Scholarship. Chapters must make formal applications for the funds upon completion of the project and the filing of a report. WCA Chapter Matching Funds are disbursed on a first come, first served basis and is limited to $100 per project until the account is exhausted for the year. Historically, WCA has funded two to six projects per year.

Funds may be used towards these projects:

• Art exhibitions developed and administered by two or more chapters
• Regional conferences involving multiple chapters
• Other cross-chapter collaboration events, approved at the discretion of the President

TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP

Description

The WCA Travel Scholarship is intended to provide WCA members on limited income or full-time students an opportunity to attend the annual WCA Conference in February. The WCA Travel Scholarship is a $100 stipend.

Eligibility

WCA members on limited income or full-time students who are members of WCA as of January 31 of the year of the conference.

January 31 of each year

CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Description

The WCA Conference Scholarship is intended to provide WCA members on limited income or full-time students an opportunity to attend the annual WCA Conference in February. The WCA Travel Scholarship waives the fee for the conference package and in return, award recipients must volunteer ten hours at the conference.

Eligibility

WCA members on limited income or full-time students who are members of WCA as of January 31 of the year of the conference. Volunteer Requirement: Recipients of the grant are required to volunteer a minimum of ten (10) hours at the conference.
