    As we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation's independence, we face a challenging question: Independence for whom? Women and marginalized groups continue to fight for representation, recognition, and equity in every arena. Rights and freedoms that our forebears struggled to obtain are being systematically stripped away. Our stories are suppressed, our voices are muted, and our contributions are marginalized. This milestone of American independence from colonial rule provides an opportunity to confront the legacy of inequity and re-imagine independence as a shared promise. What kind of world can we create when we are all truly free?

  • Fall of Freedom | Freedom of Expression

    Kunstmatrix Virtual Exhibition

    Join in on a nationwide wave of creative resistance! The “FALL OF FREEDOM: Freedom of Expression” exhibit is a Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA) national, pop-up, online art exhibition spearheaded by the WCA Art Activism Pod. Open to all current WCA members, the exhibit is Inspired by the recent New York Times article, “Artists Respond to the Fall of Freedom” (October 14, 2025), this exhibition invites WCA members to reflect on the theme Freedom of Expression.

    We’ll amplify their voices by using diverse sources from antiquity to the present.

    Members of the Women’s Caucus for Art are invited to answer these questions in a special initiative to educate the public about prominent figures within our organization. Select artists will create “Zoom style” 16:9 portraits that reflect the personalities and accomplishments of Lifetime Achievement Award honorees.
